RWE Acquires 35GWh/yr of Solar Power from Enerparc Project

  • German energy major RWE to receive solar power from Enerpac renewables.
  • Both companies have signed a 10-year PPA.

German energy major RWE is set to acquire part of the electricity produced by a 57MW solar park built and owned by renewables developer, Enerparc AG, in Hesse, central Germany.

According to Enerpac, both companies have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) under which RWE Supply & Trading will source 35GWh of green electricity annually from the new solar farm for ten years. The electricity generated will be enough to supply about 10,000 households.

Enerparc is currently building the solar plant on a 54-hectare (133.4 acres) site in the Vogelsbergkreis district between the cities of Fulda and Giessen, with commissioning planned for 2022.
