Indian solar power company Azure Power Global Ltd has commissioned its largest project, a 600MW solar plant in Rajasthan State. As a result, Azure now operates the largest single-location solar power project in India. The final 100MW of the solar project was brought online this month, increasing the company’s operating solar capacity to 2,510MW in the country.
The solar power plant, which is located in Bikaner, is connected to the Interstate Transmission System (ISTS) and will supply electricity to Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) at a tariff of IN₹ 2.53 ($ 0.034/€0.030) per kWh over the next 25 years. In addition, Azure Power has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with SECI for 2,333MW of solar farm schemes at IN₹ 2.42 per kWh under a tender for 4GW of projects.
