Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has been contracted to supply turbines for Spanish utility Iberdrola’s 94MW Iglesias wind farm in the province of Burgos, northern Spain. The contract includes a five-year service agreement and the supply of 16 turbines (14 units of the SG 6.6-170 model, operating at 6.0MW, and two SG 5.0-145 machines).
According to Siemens, the Iglesias wind project will be the first in Spain to utilise the SG 6.6-170 turbines which are from the Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform. The wind project is expected to be commissioned in early 2023.
