- FG signs MoU with Sokoto and Bauchi state governments
- To provide 5 million SHS and mini-grid systems
The Federal Government (FG) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sokoto and Bauchi state governments to provide solar and mini-grid systems in the state. The MoU is in line with the FG’s plan to improve electricity access by providing 5 million Solar Home Systems (SHS) and mini-grid systems.
Representing the Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Nebeolisa Anako, said the project will provide at least 250,000 jobs and impact over 25 million across the states.
The Commissioner of State Ministry of Energy, Sokoto State, Aliyu Balarabe, and the Bauchi State Commissioner for Power, Maryam Garba, hailed the FG’s plan to provide electricity to unserved and underserved communities in the states.
