- Italy wraps up final renewable energy tender of 2021
- Awards 975MW of solar and onshore wind projects
Italian energy company Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE) has allocated 975MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) and Onshore wind capacity in the seventh and last renewable energy auction 2021.
A total of 59 solar PV projects and 18 onshore wind schemes were successful in the auction for the so-called Group A that concerns projects above 1MW. In a separate registration process outside the auction, GSE also awarded 251.5MW to onshore wind and solar PV projects with sizes ranging from 1kW to 1MW plus an additional 110.3MW specifically to rooftop PV installations.
The energy agency has awarded 1.47GW of renewable energy projects, whether in the auction or the registration process and including hydro schemes, both new-built and refurbished.
