- States under IBEDC will experience a prolonged power outage
- TCN power allocations drop from 692.5MW to 368.5MW
- IBEDC tenders apologies to states under its franchise
The management of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) announces that the states under its franchise will experience prolonged power outages due to the Transmission Company of Nigeria’s (TCN) low weekly power allocation to its network (TCN).
This was stated by IBEDC’s Senior Communication Officer, Kikelomo Owoeye, in an Osogbo statement on Sunday. According to the report, the power outage would affect the states of Ogun, Oyo, Ibadan, Osun, and Kwara.
TCN’s weekly power allocation to the IBEDC network had dropped from 692.5 megawatts to 368.5 megawatts, according to the statement. “As a result, massive load shedding has occurred across our franchise in Ogun, Oyo, Ibadan, Osun, and Kwara.”
“Please bear with us as we work with stakeholders across the electricity value chain to find a long-term solution,” the IBEDC said.
