- Telenor Infra AS will be getting 330GWh of power annually from Sweden’s farm.
- The wind farm will be commissioned in the autumn of 2023.
Telenor Infra AS, a telecom infrastructure provider in Norway, plans to purchase 330GWh of power annually from a 260MW wind farm in Sweden under a contract with renewables operator Hydro Energi AS.
Telenor will buy electricity from the Stor-Skälsjön wind park, currently under construction in the Sundsvall and Timrå municipalities, to cover its Norwegian demand. Supply under the 10-year corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) will start when the 42-turbine wind farm is operational. Commissioning is currently planned for the autumn of 2023.
Hydro Energy is in charge of the commercial handling and delivering power from the wind park to Telenor.
“This is the first transaction showing Hydro Rein and Hydro Energy’s ability to offer renewable power solutions to external customers. Hydro Rein aims at becoming the preferred supplier of renewable power for industrial clients, and Telenor is a great example of that,” commented Olivier Girardot, Head of Hydro Rein.
