Abu Dhabi has launched a call for interest in a 1.5GW solar plant. It is inviting companies to bid for a stake of up to 40 per cent in the project.
According to a local news report, Emirates Water and Electricity Co. (EWEC) will seek bidders to construct a 1.5-gigawatt solar plant in the Ajban area of the UAE’s desert. EWEC noted that the government would own the other 60 per cent of the equity.
Abu Dhabi already has two solar parks expected to have a capacity of 3.2GW when fully operational.
