Ingeteam, a Spanish engineering company, has revealed its selection as the technology partner to supply and assemble a 70MW/340MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in northern Italy. Ingeteam did not disclose other details about the project and its promoter.
According to Ingeteam, the order includes the supply of 59 battery containers, each rated at 2.88MW/5.76MWh, 15 power stations, 59 proprietary battery inverters, a plant controller, and the SCADA monitoring systems, assembly, and commissioning.
The new BESS is expected to start operation in 2023 and will serve to support Italy’s power grid, according to Ingeteam.
