- Ministry offers 28 slots in total
The Ministry of National Assets of Chile said on Monday that it has now started accepting bids for 28 pieces of land suitable for renewable energy development after putting the competition on ice in March.
A short time slot has been opened up to bidders for them to now submit their bids through a dedicated online platform. The bid process will be open from May 23 until May 25, according to the ministry’s note.
The ministry, in the current bidding round, is offering five lots in the region of Arica y Parinacota and 23 slots in the Antofagasta under a concession.
The tendering procedure was postponed indefinitely in March just after the new president of Chile Gabriel Boric, formed his government and put Javiera Toro to lead the ministry of national assets.
Concerning the postponement that was done in March, the ministry revealed that the land tendering process initiated by the previous government was placed under a review in order to verify that it responded to the criteria of local development and environmental sustainability.
