Magnora Acquires Permit for 260MW for Solar Project in South Africa

  • Swedish firm secures environmental authorisation for renewable energy development in South Africa.

Magnora, a Swedish renewables developer, has acquired permission to construct a 260MW solar project in South Africa. The solar PV project will allow for the development a co-located utility-scale battery storage facility. It is expected to have an output of over 2300kWh.

In February 2021, Magnora entered the South African renewables market through The developer further strengthened the investment by acquiring 92% of the renewable project development company African Green Ventures (AGV) in February 2022.

The portfolio of projects under active development currently consists of approximately 1.8GW in South Africa.
