Encavis Acquires Mega Solar Portfolio in the Netherlands

  • Encavis AG has revealed that it has acquired a 48 MWp portfolio of three solar parks in the Netherlands.

Encavis AG, a German solar and wind farm operator, has revealed that it has acquired a 48 MWp portfolio of three solar parks in the Netherlands from its fellow German company, BayWa r.e. AG.

This latest purchase pushed Encavis’ generation capacity in the Netherlands to 228 MWp. The portfolio in question consists of the 3-MWp Hoogengraven and 14-MWp Dokkum and solar parks that have been generating electricity since June 2020 and July 2022, respectively.

The third asset is the 31-MWp Lemsterhoek plant which is expected to be connected to the grid within a short period. All three will be supported under the Dutch SDE+ feed-in tariff scheme for the first 15 years of operation.

“We not only benefit from the long-term guaranteed feed-in tariffs in the Netherlands, but also from possibly higher electricity prices,” noted Mario Schirru, chief investment officer and chief operating officer of Encavis.

The photovoltaic (PV) farms were developed and built by the renewable energy group BayWa. The latter will take care of their long-term operation and maintenance under a contract with the new owner.
