Water Supply Project Phase II Benefits Karago, Uganda

  • The Minister of State For Water And Environment In Uganda launches the second phase of the water supply project.
  • The project is estimated to serve over 11000 people in 2023.

 

The Minister of State For Water And Environment In Uganda, Aisha Sekindi, on the 16th of September, launched the second phase of the Karago water supply project in the Kabarole district. The project under the supervision of the water and sanitation development facility southwest [WSDF-SW] will be executed by M/S Vidas Engineering services and is expected to be completed in 12 months.

 

The minister stated that phase two of the government-sponsored project is estimated at 4.7 billion Uganda shillings. The project features a 100,000-liter tank delivering water through 400m polyvinyl chloride PVC pipe to 15 public taps that will serve the public at a subsidized price. The project is estimated to serve over 11000 people in 2023 and, upon completion of the extension in 2044, is expected to serve an estimate of about 28000 people across 21 villages in Karago.
