On Thursday, Green Energy Mission Africa held a 1-day capacity building workshop ahead of COP27 for about 40 young people in Dutse, Jigawa state. The climate change and renewable energy workshop aimed at educating participants on the impact of climate change when Jigawa is facing a flood disaster that has wrought massive destruction on lives and properties across the state.
The workshop was meant to train and strengthen participants’ knowledge of climate change and renewable energy, increasing the effectiveness of their practices, boosting their capacity to build solutions, particularly around climate change, and raising awareness towards good climate practices.
In his remarks, Abubakar Shuaibu, the CEO of Green Energy Mission Africa, stated that the company’s mission is to engage young people towards climate change and energy transition in Africa. Therefore, more workshops will be held for young people across Nigeria. He also encouraged participants to engage in discovering solutions for the environment.
