- EWP to reduce 400MW in Northern Europe.
Earth Wind & Power (EWP), a Norwegian energy infrastructure company, intends to off-take up to 400 MW of extra and pre-grid offshore wind energy capacity in Northern Europe.
The Oslo-based business stated on Tuesday that it intended to use the electricity to satisfy the power needs of its infrastructure facilities for data centres. In addition, it claims that the anticipated off-take will aid utilize extra energy that may otherwise go to waste while assisting Europe’s expanding need for data processing capacity.
The extra electricity will be used to power scalable modular data centres. When demand and energy costs are low or no other off-take choices are available, these units are often placed by Oslo-based EWP at regional power generating facilities, such as wind, solar, geothermal, and gas plants, and they use any excess electricity.
