Real Assets investor, Real Alpha Capital LLP, has revealed its acquisition of an onshore portfolio of wind turbines having a total capacity of 37 MWp in England and Scotland.
The purchase is worth more than GBP 90 million, said Alpha Real Capital.
In specific terms, 10 onshore wind turbines have been taken possession of by the real assets firm totalling 27.5 MWp, located in Fife, County Durham and Bedfordshire. The machines were bought by an unnamed fund manager. Another portfolio with 14 turbines in Cumbria with a combined capacity of 9.2 MWp and a 0.5-MW turbine in Leicestershire were added to Alpha Real Capita’s fleet as part of the deal. The single turbine site was acquired from private owners. The wind turbines will collectively generate 88 GWh of electricity annually and offset 25,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
“Demand from investors for renewable assets is increasing dramatically, and Alpha is well positioned to facilitate such investment requirements for our growing institutional client base,” said Boris Mikhailov, head of Client Solutions at Alpha Real Capital.
