- Vital Auto Parts, a company specialising in the import and distribution of automotive equipment, recently concluded an agreement with the Spanish supplier Wallbox Chargers for the installation and marketing of charging stations for electric vehicles in the North African kingdom.
Together with the Moroccan company Vital Auto Parts, which specializes in the import and sale of automotive equipment, the Spanish company Wallbox Chargers will promote its electric vehicle charging solutions in Morocco. Alejandro Criado, Director of Sales Engineers at Wallbox Chargers, explains why his company traveled to Morocco: “We came here because we think 2023 will be the year of the electric car and new models won’t start coming out until at least 2024.”
The agreement was initially intended to establish 50 charging stations in the city of Rabat by the end of 2023, according to the business, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange in the United States of America. The deployment of these infrastructures will be ensured by the Vital Energy platform and will allow the expansion of ecological mobility within the Cherifian kingdom.
In addition, every new buyer of an electric vehicle will receive a charging station thanks to a partnership between Vital Auto Parts and Wallbox and the Centrale automobile chérifienne (CAC), which imports the Audi, Volkswagen, and Skoda brands into Morocco. The National Master Plan for Electric Mobility is being created by the Moroccan government at the same time and will be implemented by 2024. The project, run by the National Office of Electricity and Water (ONEE), will allow Morocco’s transportation industry to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 23%.
