American electrolyser startup Massachusetts will be the site of EvolOH Inc.’s first manufacturing facility, which will have a 3.75 GW annual capacity. When fully operational, the facility will be the largest green hydrogen electrolyser factory in the world. It will manufacture and assemble the company’s anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolyser stacks. Manufacturing is anticipated to commence in 2025 after construction on the site begins later in 2023.

EvolOH, situated in Menlo Park, California, is attempting to market inexpensive water electrolysers. According to the company, its stacks are made of inexpensive, locally available materials and are built for a high-speed manufacturing process.

The product of the company is designed for massive power-to-hydrogen facilities. The power rating is up to 50 MW, or 20 tonnes of green hydrogen per day, for a single containerized module, and up to 5 MW, or 2 tonnes of green hydrogen per day, for a single stack.

EvolOH also plans a second factory with an annual capacity of up to 15 GW, which is targeted to start construction in 2026.
