President Bola Tinubu will join other stakeholders in Abuja to discuss the new world order for energy during the seventh edition of the Nigeria International Energy Summit. The summit, scheduled for February 26 to March 1, 2024, is part of the country’s moves to seek clean energy sources to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. NIES 2024 is a federal government official energy, oil and gas event co-hosted by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited.
The summit, tagged ‘Navigating the New Energy World Order: Security, Transition and Finance’, holds at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Aso Villa, Abuja. According to information on its X handle on Friday, the Nigeria International Energy Summit announced the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board as a confirmed Platinum Sponsor for NIES2024”. The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri and the Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, are also expected to be part of the discussion.
The new energy world order refers to the changing landscape of the energy sector as renewable energy sources gain prominence, displacing the old energy world order dominated by fossil fuels. The event producer, Brevity Anderson, said on X, “NIES2024 is the premier Energy, Oil and Gas meeting of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
