The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) declined 328 expatriate requests from oil and gas firms. During a media workshop titled “The Strategic Role of the Media in Sustaining Nigerian Content Legacies,” NCDMB’s Olubisi Okunola revealed they achieved 83 per cent of their 10-year roadmap. The objective is to raise Nigerian content in oil and gas to 70 per cent by 2027.
In 2023, NCDMB got 1,484 expatriate applications, approving 1,156 but rejecting 328. This marked a significant rise from 2022, with 1,125 applications, 943 approvals, and 172 rejections. Esueme Kikile, NCDMB’s General Manager of Corporate Communications, confirmed their commitment to local content development, aligning with the workshop’s theme. The board’s reported 83 per cent milestone in the 10-year roadmap showcases their dedication.
