The Netherlands government has established an advisory board to accelerate Nigeria’s shift towards cleaner energy. The inauguration ceremony was held at the Arnergy office on February 7, 2024, at Ilupeju, Lagos. According to a statement, the Solar Marketplace initiative is a critical component of the Dutch Government’s commitment to promoting renewable energy adoption and achieving sustainable trade and development in Nigeria.
Through the inaugurated advisory board, The Netherlands will focus on advancing sustainable solutions within the Marketplace. The statement noted that the advisory board would play a central role in guiding the strategic direction and implementation of the solar marketplace initiative. It explained that the Marketplace will act as a trusted platform connecting and facilitating business, trade, and investment in the Nigerian solar sector.
Recall that in November 2023, The Netherlands launched the Solar Marketplace in Lagos. Against this backdrop, the Consulate of the Netherlands expressed its delight to announce the official inauguration of the Solar Marketplace Advisory Board. Furthermore, it described the move as a pivotal step forward in its ongoing efforts to promote sustainable energy solutions in Nigeria.
