Egypt’s ministers, led by Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, convened in the New Administrative Capital. Their goal is to boost the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), focusing on coordination and cooperation among ministries.
El Molla highlighted strides in SAF production. Preparations are underway for the inaugural project. Studies are being prepared with international assistance. At the meeting, a presentation outlined the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) initiative to undertake the inaugural project for producing sustainable aviation fuel.
Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad affirmed the Ministry of Environment’s readiness to cooperate. The meeting revealed insights from ongoing studies in collaboration with international institutions.
The project strategy was detailed, and preparatory measures for implementation were discussed. Mohamed Abbas Helmy, the minister of Civil Aviation, outlined plans for integrating SAF into civil aviation. And lastly, the agreement to procure essential raw materials was emphasized.
