Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund and Climate Fund Managers (CFM) invest $18 million in Konexa. It aims to provide clean energy solutions to Nigerian businesses. Initially, we will focus on Nigerian Breweries’ factories in Kaduna. Konexa plans to source electricity from the 30 MW Gurara hydroelectric power station.
Which is operated by North South Power Company to replace diesel generators. This partnership will supply Nigerian Breweries with clean energy, meeting an estimated annual capacity of 20.5 GWh.
In addition to business ventures, Konexa promotes electrification initiatives, exemplified by its efforts in Chikaji Gwari and Chikaji Tsakiya villages. Konexa has established 200 electricity connections and provided solar equipment to enhance various sectors, including small-scale farming. CFM and Microsoft’s injection of funds marks a promising trajectory for Konexa, fostering further collaborative efforts to advance clean energy solutions across Nigeria.
