Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi on Wednesday 24th July 2024, announced the creation of the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy and appointed Siraja Musa as its pioneer commissioner. A groundbreaking initiative aimed at enhancing the state’s energy infrastructure. In a ceremony held at the Government House, he appointed a new pioneer commissioner of the newly established Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy.
During the event, Governor Namadi highlighted the historical significance of this move, marking the first time Jigawa State has dedicated a ministry solely to power and renewable energy. He acknowledged the challenges ahead in setting up the new ministry but expressed confidence in Dr. Musa’s capability to lead effectively.
