BrightNight, a Florida-based renewable energy leader, announced a significant financial boost. The company secured a strategic investment of USD 440 million (EUR 406 million) in Goldman Sachs Alternatives’ Infrastructure business. Combined with existing capital commitments, this investment will fully support BrightNight’s five-year business plan and advance its 31-GW project portfolio.
Cedric Lucas, Managing Director at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, expressed their shared vision. “We have a joint ambition to build a leading renewable independent power producer (IPP). Through this partnership, we aim to accelerate growth by providing long-term capital and leveraging our firm’s capabilities and relationships,” Lucas said.
Teresa Matamoros, another Managing Director at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, pointed out the growing demand for renewable energy. “The demand benefits from strong energy transition trends, corporate decarbonisation goals, and supportive federal and state policies,” Matamoros said.
BrightNight serves utility, commercial, and industrial customers in the US and the Asia Pacific. In addition to Goldman Sachs, its investors and partners include Global Infrastructure Partners and CPPIB-backed Cordelio Power.
