JinkoSolar and ACWA Power Partner for Solar Initiative in Saudi Arabia

  • JinkoSolar signs a contract with ACWA Power to supply 3 GW of photovoltaic modules for Saudi Arabia’s Haden and Al-Khushaybi projects, supporting the kingdom’s renewable energy goals.
  • The agreement features JinkoSolar’s advanced Tiger Neo N-type solar modules, designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions and ensure high efficiency.
  • This partnership aligns with Saudi Arabia’s aim for carbon neutrality by 2060 and includes plans for a local manufacturing facility to boost the economy and create jobs.

JinkoSolar has secured a significant contract with ACWA Power to supply 3 GW of photovoltaic modules for Saudi Arabia’s Haden and Al-Khushaybi projects. This partnership aligns with Saudi Arabia’s efforts to cut carbon emissions and expand renewable energy.

The contract supports the PIF4 project, backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), which aims to boost the country’s solar capacity. JinkoSolar will provide advanced Tiger Neo N-type solar modules for the 1.2 GW Haden and 1.8 GW Al-Khushaybi projects.

The China Energy Engineering Group Consortium will lead the Haden project and use JinkoSolar’s Tiger Neo N-type 78 series modules. These modules endure harsh conditions like high heat, temperature fluctuations, and sandstorms, making them ideal for Saudi Arabia’s climate.

India’s Larsen & Toubro (L&T) will lead the Al-Khushaybi project and use the Tiger Neo N-type 66 series modules. These modules offer high energy efficiency and durability, which are crucial for meeting the growing energy demands of the Saudi market.

JinkoSolar’s Tiger Neo modules incorporate Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) technology, which reduces the degradation of the modules over time. This innovation ensures long-term, stable performance, especially under high irradiation and extreme temperatures. The Tiger Neo modules maintain efficiency even in Saudi Arabia’s intense heat with their lower temperature coefficient.

This deal marks a significant step toward Saudi Arabia’s carbon neutrality goal by 2060. By adopting advanced solar technology, the kingdom aims to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and accelerate its transition to clean energy.

JinkoSolar collaborates with the Saudi Public Investment Fund and other partners to build a local manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia. This facility will localise solar module production, boost the economy, and create jobs in the renewable energy sector.

The 3 GW supply deal further solidifies JinkoSolar’s leadership in the global solar market. The collaboration with ACWA Power and Saudi partners highlights JinkoSolar’s growing presence in the Middle East. Plans include expanding solar production capacity in Saudi Arabia and introducing new technologies to meet the rising demand for clean energy.

JinkoSolar is crucial in Saudi Arabia’s renewable energy goals by focusing on innovation and sustainability. JinkoSolar’s advanced modules help meet stringent environmental and efficiency standards as the country scales up its solar energy production.

This deal marks another milestone for JinkoSolar, reinforcing its commitment to support global decarbonisation efforts. With continued investments in solar technology, the company helps shape a more sustainable and resilient energy future.
