- BMW partners with Neste to use renewable diesel in initial fills of diesel vehicles at German plants.
- Over half of BMW’s global diesel vehicle production will transition to HVO100 renewable diesel.
- Neste’s renewable diesel helps BMW reduce greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining vehicle performance.
BMW will partner with Neste to use Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ for initial fills of diesel vehicles at their German plants. BMW will supply this renewable diesel to Munich, Dingolfing, Leipzig, and Regensburg factories.
The shift to HVO100 renewable diesel will affect over half of BMW’s global diesel vehicle production. BMW has already received deliveries at individual plants and expanded HVO100 approval to cover more models.
“We appreciate BMW’s trust and look forward to this cooperation,” said Joerg Huebeler, head of market development, EU & APAC at Neste. He emphasised that renewable diesel is critical in advancing sustainable mobility, enabling BMW to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions without sacrificing performance.
Huebeler pointed out that Nestle’s renewable diesel will let BMW customers directly experience how GHG reductions work. He also thanked Biofuel Express for supporting the delivery of renewable diesel to BMW.
BMW’s decision to adopt renewable diesel aligns with its broader goals of cutting carbon emissions and driving sustainability. Huebeler noted that renewable diesel solutions significantly contribute to sustainable global transport, with BMW’s collaboration as a prime example.
BMW expanded HVO100 approval for a significant portion of its vehicle lineup, demonstrating its confidence in renewable diesel’s performance and environmental benefits.
Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ uses 100% renewable raw materials to produce a high-quality, sustainable fuel. The fuel reduces GHG emissions by up to 90% compared to fossil diesel, perfectly fitting BMW’s move toward greener production.
BMW continues integrating renewable energy into its production and uses green electricity at its manufacturing sites. Nestle’s renewable diesel will further these efforts, helping BMW reach its sustainability targets.
Neste, a global leader in renewable fuels, continues to pioneer sustainable energy solutions for transport, aviation, and industry. The collaboration with BMW marks a milestone in Nestle’s push for renewable diesel as a key automotive solution to emissions reduction.
By adopting Nestle’s renewable diesel for initial fills, BMW underscores its commitment to sustainable production. This partnership shows how renewable fuels are increasingly key to the automotive sector’s push to reduce carbon footprints.
BMW’s use of Nestle renewable diesel will reduce GHG emissions and contribute to its broader sustainability efforts, including various environmental initiatives.
The partnership between BMW and Neste marks a crucial step toward greener automotive manufacturing. Renewable diesel will significantly reduce emissions and support BMW’s long-term sustainability strategy.
