The Federal Government has announced plans to complete abandoned power projects

The Minister of Power Sale Mamman has announced the plans of the Federal Government to complete abandoned power projects in Abia state. The projects include the 2×30/40MVA substations 132 kVA transmission lines located in Arochukwu, Ubur-Ihechiowa, and Ohafia. The projects, commissioned in 2001, have been abandoned for over ten years. These projects were at least 90% complete at the time of inspection by the Minister. The new timeline for completion is Q1 2021.
The Minister, speaking at the project inspection, said the FG will intensify efforts to complete these projects. He noted when revived, these projects will help improve the electricity supply to the area.
