- ABB and Cap Clean Energy collaborate on Canada’s sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production.
- ABB’s technology optimises biofuel facilities under the partnership.
ABB and Cap Clean Energy collaborate to establish sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production sites in Canadian provinces. ABB will utilise its automation and electrification under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Also, it will use digital technologies to optimise biofuel facilities. Cap Clean Energy’s sites will produce ultra-low carbon SAF from non-food cereal crop by-products. They are incorporating carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology to reduce CO2 emissions.
Brandon Spencer, president of ABB Energy Industries, highlights the collaboration’s commitment to advancing sustainable fuels. Steve Polvi, CEO of Cap Clean Energy, expresses enthusiasm for partnering with ABB. He cited its expertise in integrated technology. Cap Clean Energy’s biofuel facilities will be modular, allowing rapid scale-up, with plans for a broader bio-refinery network.
