ACME Solar Wins 130 MW at Renewable Power Auction in India

  • ACME Solar secures 130 MW in REMCL’s 1,000 MW RTC tender at ₹4.35/unit and must commission the project within 30 months using solar, wind and storage assets.
  • The project requires 75%–85% annual availability and enables Indian Railways to procure firm renewable power directly through a PPA.

ACME Solar Holdings has won 130 MW in an e-reverse auction run by REMC Limited for its 1,000 MW round-the-clock renewable energy tender. The company secured the capacity at a tariff of ₹4.35 per unit and expects to receive the Letter of Award within the timeline set in the tender rules.

Meanwhile, the tender aims to deliver steady renewable power to Indian Railways, which needs a continuous supply to meet its operational load. Railways will also sign power purchase agreements directly with the winning developers, removing the need for an intermediary buyer.

Furthermore, the tariff reflects the rising competitiveness of renewable energy in supplying round-the-clock power by combining solar, wind and battery storage at lower costs. ACME Solar must provide RTC power using dispatchable sources and energy storage from ISTS-connected projects.

The project requires annual availability of at least 75% for the first three years and 85% afterwards. ACME Solar must commission the project within 30 months of signing the PPA. The company said it will accelerate delivery using land and grid connections already prepared in its development pipeline.
