  • Acme will build a 3.5GWp green ammonia facility in Oman.
  • The plant is set to become operational next year.
  • The ammonia produced will be exported to Europe and Asia.

Indian solar energy company Acme Group has agreed to construct green hydrogen and green ammonia production complex in Oman. The company plans to invest $3.5 billion (€2.98bn) into the project development over the next three years. The plant will be built over several phases and will begin operations by the end of next year.

Acme has signed a land reservation agreement with The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones to construct the complex at the special economic zone in the Port of Duqm. The complex will be powered by 3GWp of solar and 0.5 GWp of wind capacity to produce 2,400 tonnes of green ammonia daily. Acme will export the produced ammonia to Europe and Asia.

Acme Group has already constructed a green hydrogen and ammonia plant in Bikaner, India, powered by a 5MWp solar plant scalable to 10 MWp. The company’s portfolio consists of about 2.2GWp of operational solar parks and 3.05 GWp under construction.
