- Adamawa signed MoUs with A4&T Power Solutions and Sparrow Mobility to boost electricity supply and deploy 10,000 electric motorcycles and tricycles.
- The ₦80bn projects will add 15MW through mini-grids and solar systems, create jobs, and drive the state’s clean energy transition.
The Adamawa State Government signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with A4&T Power Solutions Limited and Sparrow Mobility Limited to boost electricity supply and modernise transportation in the state.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri described the agreements as a significant step toward economic growth, industrial transformation, and improved living standards. He pledged full government support to ensure the projects succeed.
Meanwhile, under the first MoU across Adamawa, A4&T Power Solutions will generate and distribute power. Fintiri stressed that reliable electricity will drive industries, boost agriculture, and create jobs.
The second MoU with Sparrow Mobility covers the assembly and deployment of electric motorcycles and tricycles. The initiative also targets safer transport, reduced emissions, and new employment opportunities for youths.
Commissioner for Works and Energy Development, Hon. Adamu Atiku, revealed plans to invest over N80 billion to generate 15 megawatts of power within five years through mini-grids, hybrid, and solar systems. He added that Sparrow Mobility will deploy 10,000 electric motorcycles and bicycles within two years and establish charging and assembly plants in the state.
Furthermore, Ayo Ademilua, CEO of A4&T Power Group, said the company had mapped out major local governments to determine the most suitable power projects. He also explained that some communities would need interconnected mini-grids, others isolated mini-grids, and some extended distribution systems.
With more than 12 years of experience in power deployment across Nigeria, A4&T pledged to deliver tailored solutions for Adamawa. Commissioner for Transport Wunfe Anthony praised Fintiri for facilitating the partnerships, noting that the projects will accelerate the state’s transition to clean energy, cut carbon emissions, and promote eco-friendly transportation.
