The African Solar Industry Association (AFSIA) is set to launch the third Solar Awards’. Utility-Scale Solar Project of the Year, C&I Solar Project of the Year, Mini-Grid Project of the Year, Solar Home System (SHS) Provider of the Year, Productive Use Application of the Year, African Solar Company of the Year, and Solar Entrepreneur or SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) of the Year are among the 13 categories for the AFSIA Solar Awards in 2022.
A panel of industry professionals will judge the tournament, and media and prizes will be handed at the Africa Energy Forum (AEF), Africa’s most prominent energy event, which will take place in Brussels, Belgium, from June 21 to 24, 2022.
The application period began on March 21 and will end on May 13, 2022. On June 23, 2022, the most creative solutions or enterprises will be announced at a live awards ceremony. Several players in the solar energy business won honours at the AFSIA Solar Awards’ second edition (in 2021). This is the situation for Sunfunder and InfraCo Africa, two investors. The Engie Equatorial joint venture (Engie Energy Access and Equatorial Power) was recognized in the Solar Mini-Grid Project of the Year category. In addition, Ignite Power was named SHS Provider of the Year.
