- The Clean Hydrogen Infrastructure fund is worth EUR1.5 billion
Airbus Group, an aircraft maker, revealed that it had invested in the clean hydrogen infrastructure fund managed by Hy24. Hy24 is the joint-venture platform of Ardian, a Paris-based investment house, and fiveT Hydrogen.
There was no disclosure of details about the size of the investment made, according to the press statement.
“Joining a fund of this magnitude demonstrates Airbus’ continuously active role in infrastructure investments for the production, storage and distribution of clean hydrogen worldwide,” said Karine Guenan, vice president ZEROe Ecosystem at Airbus.
The Clean Hydrogen Infrastructure fund worth EUR1.5 billion was set up in 2021 towards investing in the entire hydrogen value chain in Europe, the Americas and Asia and is being managed by Hy24. The fund is the world’s largest investment platform for clean hydrogen. The fund is expected to support the development of hydrogen projects with about EUR 15 billion, alongside public policies and some debt financing.
Some of the major partners of the fund include TotalEnergies, Air Liquide and Vinci SA. Investors include South Korea’s Lotte Chemical Group, French insurer AXA SA and Credit Agricole SA. The investment made by Airbus is in tandem with the company’s commitment to attaining net zero by 2050. It also signals the company’s goal of launching its first zero-emission commercial aircraft by 2035.
