According to France-based Power Producer, Akuo, a portfolio of five functioning hydroelectric power plants in Bulgaria with a capacity of 15.5MW has been successfully refinanced. The utility noted that RGREEN INVEST is a 49% joint partner of the assets through its INFRAGREEN IV fund.
This agreement follows the March 2021 acquisition of PVB Power Bulgaria, the operator of the hydroelectric units on the Iskar river near Svoghe that have been functioning from 2010 to 2013.
According to Akuo, the Svoghe portfolio will reinforce national efforts to accomplish this goal. In addition, it will cover the power usage of more than 20,000 Bulgarian families, resulting in the avoidance of 35,000 metric tons of CO2.
