- The plant will sell 70 per cent of the generated electricity under a PPA hile the remaining will be sold via bilateral PPAs or on the spot market.

The Albanian Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has launched a tender for the construction of a 100MW solar power plant in Durrës. The plant will occupy 120 hectares on the grounds of a local hospital. 70 per cent of the energy generated from the plant will be sold to the Albanian power utility Operatori i Shpërndarjes së Energjisë Elektrike SH.A. (OSHEE) under a 15-year PPA. 30% will be sold on the spot market or through bilateral PPAs.
The Albanian government has previously held two tenders for large-scale PV projects. India Power won one in November 2018 for a 100MW solar plant. The second tender was for a 140MW PV project and the French solar company Voltalia secured the project with a bid of €0.02489/kWh.
The International Renewable Energy Agency reports that Albania has only 3 MW of installed solar power at the end of last year.
The ceiling price for this tender has been set at €55/MWh, and the results will be announced by March 2, 2021.,The submission deadline for the tender is February 1.
