AMEA Power, a United Arab Emirates-based Al Nowais Investments (ANI) subsidiary, has commissioned a 50MW solar power plant in Togo. The plant is expected to provide clean energy to about 158,000 households.
The plant, which is located about 270km from the capital Lome, will generate 90,255 MWh annually, according to AMEA.
AMEA will operate the plant for 25 years. It is expected that the plant will support the West African nation in its bid to achieve universal access to electricity by 2030. The plant will also increase the share of clean energy in the country’s energy mix to 50 per cent.
