- Amea Power expresses interest to the Gabonese authorities to construct a 50MWp solar power plant in Oyem.
- The IPP has completed several projects in sub-Saharan Africa.
The Emirati Independent Power Producer (IPP), Amea Power plans to invest in Gabon with a 50MWp solar power plant in Oyem, the capital of the Woleu-Ntem province. According to Gabon Review, the site is located 7 km from the city center and near the substation built to supply the region with electricity. The future solar power plant will thus increase Gabon’s installed capacity while providing clean energy to households in the provinces of Woleu-Ntem and Ogooué-Ivindo, and its industries.
Amea Power, which has eyes on the Gabonese renewable energy market, has already completed several solar projects in sub-Saharan Africa. In Togo, for instance, IPP operates a 50MWp solar power plant in Blitta, in the centre of the country. The group also has a portfolio of projects in Mali, Chad and Uganda.
