- Makes agreement for the purchase of a 200 MW solar power plant.
- Project to create over 250 construction jobs.
Ameren Missouri, an Ameren Corp-owned electric and gas service provider, has made an agreement to purchase a 200 MW solar power plant located in the central legion of its home state for an undisclosed fee. In specific terms, based on a build-transfer deal with EDF renewables, the company is planning on purchasing the Huck Finn solar project.
The project, expected to commence commercial operations in 2024 and create over 250 construction jobs, will be situated on the border of Missouri’s Audrain and Ralls counties. The Huck Finn project is expected to have enough output to supply about 40,000 homes. Based on the announcement, the project’s output will be 25 times the amount of energy from Missouri’s largest existing solar power station.
Ameren Missouri plans on adding 2,800 MW of renewables by 2030. Since 2019, it has put in service nine solar parks with a combined capacity of over 360 MW.
