Ampyr Solar Europe Opens 45MW Solar Cluster in Germany

  • Ampyr Solar Europe has launched its 45MWp Gorgast solar park cluster in Brandenburg, Germany, advancing its European energy transition strategy.
  • The project, built on 40.6 hectares with 75,000 panels, powers about 13,000 homes and cuts 22,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually.

Ampyr Solar Europe has commissioned its 45-megawatt-peak (MWp) Gorgast solar park cluster in Brandenburg, Germany, strengthening its portfolio in the European energy transition.

The cluster unites three photovoltaic sites, Gorgast Bahn, Gorgast Gewächshaus and Manschnow, which operate jointly as a single plant. Meanwhile, covering 40.6 hectares and hosting nearly 75,000 solar panels, the facility generates enough electricity to power about 13,000 homes and prevents around 22,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

Furthermore, the company converted a disused brownfield site at Gorgast Gewächshaus into a productive solar installation, integrating major environmental rehabilitation measures. In addition, Ampyr Solar Europe said the project demonstrates its commitment to responsible land use and ecological restoration, highlighting substantial investments in site clearance, removal of unexploded ordnance, and biodiversity protection.

Ampyr also delivered the project in cooperation with the local municipality, involving local contractors and supporting sustainable regional growth. “We are proud to contribute to Europe’s ongoing energy transition with the opening of the Gorgast PV cluster,” Chief Executive Tarun Agrawal said.

“Our collaboration with partners has been exemplary and sets a benchmark for future developments. The Gorgast project reinforces our commitment to expanding renewable assets in Germany, where we now have a combined PV and battery energy storage pipeline exceeding 3GW, as part of a 7GW portfolio across Germany, the Netherlands and the UK.”
