APWAL inaugurated a solar power project at KNOSK N100-a-day Charity College in Kuje, Abuja, on Children’s Day. Reinforcing its CSR commitment.
KNOSK offers a holistic education model for underprivileged children. This includes providing books, uniforms, meals, sanitary pads, and computer-based learning for just N100 daily. This initiative creates opportunities for underserved children in the Kuje area of the FCT.
APWAL’s “Power to Change” CSR program focuses on sustainable education, healthcare, livelihood, and infrastructure. So far, the program has invested $4.1 million in impactful projects across Azura’s host communities in Edo State and nationwide.
Significant achievements include the Basic Education Program, internship opportunities, and solar electrification projects. APWAL is working on a 240kW Solar Car Park at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Which is set for completion in July 2024, and a 300kW project at the University of Benin. These projects highlight APWAL’s commitment to sustainable development and education.
The KNOSK project ensures a reliable energy supply, enhances learning, and enables 100% off-grid daytime schooling. It benefits 150 students and 43 staff members and promotes a greener environment.
Using solar energy, APWAL reduces its carbon footprint, inspires learning, and empowers communities. The project frees communities from traditional energy constraints, unlocking new growth opportunities.
Edu Okeke, MD/CEO of APWAL, launched the project at the school. Students and teachers expressed excitement and gratitude for the initiative’s impact.
The school’s founder said, “We now have 100% daytime electricity at KNOSK N100 A Day Charity School. All thanks to Azura… hurray!”
APWAL hopes this project will inspire future KNOSK students and open new opportunities for the community.
