Aradel Signs Gas Deal with NLNG to Back Energy Transition

  • Aradel Holdings signed a Gas Supply Agreement with NLNG via the SNG–NNPC Gas Marketing partnership to boost Nigeria’s energy transition and gas reforms.
  • The company reaffirmed its commitment to cleaner energy, citing its 100 mscfd gas plant, zero routine flaring since 2012, and plans to expand domestic gas supply.

Aradel Holdings Plc signed a Gas Supply Agreement with Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) to deliver additional volumes, reinforcing its support for the government’s gas reforms and domestic energy agenda.

The deal, executed through its subsidiary Aradel Gas Limited, runs via a partnership between Shell Nigeria Gas and NNPC Gas Marketing Limited, the company said in a statement.

Aradel called the agreement “a major boost for Nigeria’s energy transition agenda,” adding that it strengthens energy security and supports economic growth.

The company pointed to its 100 million standard cubic feet per day gas processing plant, commissioned in 2012, as proof of sustained investment in infrastructure to harness and commercialise gas resources. Aradel said the facility contributes to the domestic gas supply and cleaner energy.

The firm also highlighted its environmental record, noting that it has eliminated routine flaring at the Ogbele facility since 2012 and was the first non-joint venture gas supplier to NLNG.

“We are happy to sign an agreement that guarantees the supply of additional gas volumes to NLNG through the SNG-NGML Partnership,” Chief Executive Adegbite Falade said. “As the energy landscape evolves, natural gas remains central to our growth strategy and Nigeria’s transition to cleaner energy.”
