- Arc Power secures $10 million for Rwanda’s clean energy expansion.
- Funding from Triodos Investment Management and Oikocredits aids electrification for 100,000 people.
London-based Arc Power, a key electricity access provider, got $10 million from Dutch investors Triodos Investment Management and Oikocredit. The funding will help Arc Power’s plan to give electricity to 100,000 people in rural Rwanda, mainly through off-grid solar systems.
Karl Boyce leads the company’s efforts to electrify over 30,000 households in Rwanda. Their focus aligns with Rwanda’s aim to increase electricity access while cutting emissions. Rwanda Energy Group (REG) reports that 74.40% of households have electricity as of September 2023, with 54.19% connected to the national grid and 20.21% using off-grid systems, primarily solar. Arc Power’s funding boost will drive further progress in Rwanda’s electrification.
