- Atrato Onsite Energy has purchased the developer of a 20 MWp solar project
- The entire power yield is to be contracted to Nissan under a 20-year power purchase agreement
Atrato Onsite Energy plc, a Renewable Investment trust, has revealed that it has purchased the developer of a 20 MWp solar project for a unit of Japanese carmaker Nissan Motor in the UK. The project, also known as Hylton Plantation Solar Farm Ltd, is being developed for Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK Ltd. The acquisition cost Atrato GBP 10.6 million.
The project aims to create a behind-the-meter private wire solar installation near Nissan’s production based in Sunderland, Northern England. The plant has more than 37,000 panels and will generate electricity for the manufacturing plant. The total power generated will be contracted to Nissan under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA). In November 2021, Atrato Onsite raised GBP 150 million in its first public offering (IPO) on the London Stock Exchange.
