Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois (ATXI) has completed and energised the $1.4 billion Illinois Rivers Project transmission line. The project is part of the regional collaborative effort under the Multi-Value projects across the Mid-West region. The project was approved by the Midcontinent Independent System Operator in 2011.
”The Illinois Rivers Project is an important component to help deliver clean, affordable and reliable energy to communities across the Midwest and ensure the grid can accommodate ever-increasing renewable resources”, ATXI Chairman Shawn Schukar said.
The Illinois Rivers Project transmission line runs between Palmyra, Missouri and Sugar Creek, in Indiana. This project is expected to improve the regional grid capability.
