Verbund AG, an Austrian power company, said today that it had purchased 82MWp of operating solar parks in Spain and a development platform with 4,500MW of renewable energy projects in the Iberian country.
According to a bourse filing, funds managed by Q-Energy Private Equity are selling the portfolio for an unknown sum.
The project platform consists of 2,100 MW of wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in various stages of construction, with the remaining 2,400 MW being greenfield plans. The majority of the projects in the bundle are in Castilla–La Mancha in central Spain and Andalusia in southern Spain.
In addition to the platform, Verbund now owns the project development team.
