- Consumers without electricity supply following floods
Residents of Verviers have been left without electricity supply following devastating floods in Belgium. Nearly two weeks after the floods, several households and businesses are left without electricity and gas supply. In addition, many underground floors were completely flooded.
A resident, Mohammed, said, ”Everything is cut. We have no gas. There’s nothing.” ”Now we are waiting because we are not the first, not the last; there are lots of people like this,” Mohammed added.
Small businesses were also affected by the floods, with owners trying to salvage whatever they can. It is, however, uncertain when electricity and gas supply would be restored in Verviers.
Verviers was one of the worst-hit towns following the floods.
