Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) will construct an 8MW Solar PV power plant at Tamarind Falls, Henrietta, Mauritius. The Indian company has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract by CEB (Green Energy) Co. Ltd, Mauritius, a subsidiary of the state-owned Central Electricity Board (CEB).

The government of India will provide a Line of Credit (LOC) for the project’s financing. BHEL was awarded the contract after emerging victorious in a competitive bidding process.
BHEL offers EPC services for both grid-connected and off-grid, ground-mounted, rooftop and floating solar plants. The company has a total solar portfolio of 1GW of projects in various stages of development. BHEL also produces space-grade solar panels and batteries for space applications.
BHEL has provided solar energy solutions over the past thirty years. The project will help the company consolidate in Africa, where it already has numerous conventional on-grid generation capacity.
