Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS), Azerbaijan, has implemented the Sustainable Energy for a Sustainable Future international program. Seventeen students from various universities in China, Chinese students studying at Baku Higher Oil School, two students from Sumgait State University and Nakhchivan State University and two employees of the Turkish company TPAO took part in the program, organised by BHOS with the support of SOCAR.
Speaking at the program’s opening, the Rector of Baku Higher Oil School, Elmar Gasimov, expressed confidence that this program would be helpful to them and hoped they would spend their time effectively and gain new knowledge.
Regarding Baku Higher Oil School’s cooperation with Chinese universities and companies, the rector said BHOS and the China University of Petroleum (UPC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. He added that BHOS graduates were studying at UPC, with mutual visits between the two universities, and BHOS actively participated in realising Huawei’s social projects in Azerbaijan.
Gasimov stressed that the international program, realised in China for the first time in the field of engineering, would contribute to further developing relations between the two countries. It will also establish ties with other Chinese universities and increase the number of Chinese students studying at BHOS.
