- Canada-based uranium development and exploration firm plan 1 000 acre-wide solar project in the US.
- Promises benefits to host community
A company, yet unnamed, has been identified to conduct a feasibility study on the potential development of a solar power generating facility. The project is expected to cover approximately 1000 acres of land in the US, and it is owned by Virginia Energy Resources Inc, a Canada-based uranium development and exploration firm.
Virginia revealed that an option agreement had been established with the solar developer towards evaluating the project’s feasibility in Pittsylvania County. In this location, Virginia Energy Resources has a 100% controlling interest in the advanced stage Coles Hill uranium project.
The firm also stated that a solar park in Pittsylvania County could meet its onsite energy demands with clean energy that would have extended benefits in the processing facilities at Coles Hill. Other potential advantages of the project are the provision of low-cost electricity to the local community area and a future source of cash flow for the company.
